Error code10
ApplianceWasher
Quick answer
Code 10 on a Fisher & Paykel GW or Intuitive washer points to the thermistor. The manual's action is to replace it, which belongs to service.
Model compatibility: Fisher & Paykel reuses codes across series and model years, so 10 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Thermistor (temperature sensor) error on Intuitive and GW models, Phases 1 to 6: open circuit, or ambient below minus 10 C.
Fault 10 is a temperature sensor error in the Fisher & Paykel service manual, which means the thermistor, the sensor that reads the water temperature. Two possibilities are given. Either the sensor is an open circuit, or the room around the machine is colder than minus 10 C. Only Intuitive and GW washers are within its scope.
Open circuit, explained
When the electrical path is broken, the control has nothing to read. Fault 41 is the reverse case: the sensor reads more than 110 C and a short in its wiring is suspected.

Is your washer included?
Phases 1 to 6 are listed, though only for GW and Intuitive models. In the model table you will find GW500 to GW711 and IW509 to IW811, along with other numbers in each phase. Start by finding your model on the label.
Until service arrives
If the washer misbehaves, switch it off at the wall. What the display shows is the last recorded fault, so tell the technician how the machine behaved when it stopped.

Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
