E7 is an electronics fault in detergent dispensing. Follow the power-cycle steps, then stop and call.
Model compatibility: Fisher & Paykel reuses codes across series and model years, so E7 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Fisher & Paykel's DishDrawer user guide lists E7 as an electronics fault in the detergent dispensing system.
E7 in short
A beep once per second plus E7 on the wash program panel inside the drawer, and on the display, is how the Classic-style guide presents an electronics fault in the detergent dispensing system.
The dispenser’s job
Detergent is held in the dispenser and let out at the proper moment in the wash program. For this code the guide does not mention a jammed lid or a lump of tablet. It points to the electronics controlling the release, which is why it handles E7 as a service issue and not as a loading or cleaning one.
The E-code routine, in sequence
Hit the button the guide indicates to stop the beeper.
Note the code.
Power the DishDrawer off, hold for a few seconds, and power it on.
No E7 afterwards? The fault has reset and the machine stays in use.
E7 back? Press the button once more and a second number will appear in the display for a moment. Write that down as well; Customer Care uses it to narrow down the fault.
Pull the plug or turn the breaker off, close the water supply, and contact Customer Care with both numbers.
How little the source says
E7 gets a single line in the guide: no list of causes, no named sensor or part other than the dispensing system, and no repair procedure. So the routine above is the full extent of safe owner action, and the guide never suggests opening panels near the electronics.
Siblings on Classic models
E8 is the same sort of electronics fault but covers “other systems” in place of the dispenser.
If E7 keeps appearing, (310) 872-1939 reaches our Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer service line in Los Angeles. Have the code ready, with the second number if you caught it, and say whether a power-off reset cleared the code even for a short time.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
