Error codeA1
ApplianceDishDrawer Dishwasher
Quick answer
A1 is a water supply fault. Turn the supply on, press Start/Pause twice to clear, then resume.
Model compatibility: Fisher & Paykel reuses codes across series and model years, so A1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Fisher & Paykel lists A1 as a water supply fault on the DishDrawer, cleared once the supply is on and Start/Pause has been pressed.
What A1 means
Water is not reaching the DishDrawer the way it should. Step one from the maker: check that the tap feeding the machine is open. Step two: reset the fault at the control panel.
How a fault shows itself
In the DD24DAX9 and DD24SAX9 user guide, a fault means non-stop beeping while the display flashes the code.
With a double model, the indicator for the affected drawer blinks too, so you can see which side is in trouble.
The second drawer may keep working if it has no fault of its own.
Three presses and one tap
Open the supply tap to the dishwasher. The manufacturer words it as: ensure the water supply is turned on.
Tap Start/Pause once to quiet the beeper, and tap it again to clear the fault.
Tap Start/Pause for a third time and the wash program picks up again.
If the program goes on and the drawer fills, the fault is gone. A tap shut earlier in the day, by accident or during plumbing work, may be the full explanation.
If the tap is open and A1 returns
The two sources give no second cause, so there is no further list to work through. A1 is a supply fault, not a drain fault; a blocked hose belongs to A3 instead. On a double model, press the scroll button to read the code for each drawer, write them down, and then contact Customer Care or a technician, as the guide advises.

A3 covers the opposite direction, water that cannot leave the drawer.
A DishDrawer that still shows A1 with the tap open can be reported on (310) 872-1939, our Los Angeles line for Fisher & Paykel dishwasher repair. Keep the model number nearby, along with the code and what you already tried.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
