F213, F214, F215, F216, EA, E2 and E36 all mean a sensor fault on a freestanding range. F215 and F216 sit on a second list too.
Model compatibility: Fisher & Paykel reuses codes across series and model years, so F213 / F214 / F215 / F216 … may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

What this code means
The freestanding cooker guide classes F213, F214, F215, F216, EA, E2 and E36 as sensor errors.
When the display of a freestanding range shows F213, F214, F215, F216, EA, E2 or E36, the manufacturer’s cooker guide files it as a sensor error. In an oven a sensor is typically a temperature probe, but the guide does not say which sensor each of these codes refers to.
F215 and F216 appear on two lists
These two codes are also printed under the electronic board or software error heading. That heading comes with a cool-down reset. Sensor errors have no procedure of their own and land under “for all other fault codes”, which says to book a service repair. The source leaves the overlap open, so a reset should not be expected to fix a sensor fault.
The reset, if you decide to try it
Let the cooling fans stop and the oven cool all the way down.
Switch the range off at the power supply.
Leave it off for 30 seconds, then switch it on again.
Do not remove power from a hot oven. The guide warns that doing so can damage the oven and the cabinetry around it.
When the code keeps returning
A sensor code that comes back means a service repair. Checking the probe and its wiring is work for a technician, not for the owner.
For Fisher & Paykel range service in Los Angeles, call (310) 872-1939. Say which of the seven codes is on the display, and mention it if it is F215 or F216. The cooktop and range repair page has more on what is covered.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
