F6 has two descriptions: lid fault and drying fan fault. One restart, then service.
Model compatibility: Fisher & Paykel reuses codes across series and model years, so F6 / E6 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Lid fault in the older guide; drying fan fault in the support article.
Two descriptions for one code
F6 is described in two ways. According to the DD24/DD60 user guide it is a lid fault, whereas the support article on F-codes calls it a drying fan fault, as does the Classic-panel code E6.
Nothing indicates which models use which wording. To be certain, read the model number off the DishDrawer and put the question to Customer Care.
Permitted actions
Older guide: restore power by plugging in or switching on at the supply; the fault may reset.
Support article: no owner action. F6 is within the group that needs a service technician.
Restarting is the cautious course whichever text applies. Give it a few seconds with the power off first.
The fan, if that is your reading
On machines where F6 is the drying fan, its job is to move air through the drawer after the last rinse.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
